Fitness and being active is a daily routine and major part of my life that benefits me emotionally, physically, and psychologically as a professional track and field athlete. My mom, who is my greatest advocate and biggest supporter started her own fitness journey by walking a mile each day. Eventually one mile turned into two and two into three until she was finally able to run a mile. Watching her persist to make her health and fitness at 60+ a priority has shown me that I too can create and reach goals by taking the initial step, no matter how far or how fast.
Jessica Beard is a three time IAAF World Championship gold medalist and one of the top sprinters in the world (ranked #5 at 400 meters in 2018).She currently trains at Texas A&M.
