Family has always been very important and as a parent is the number one priority in my life today. I enjoy spending time with my wife Holly and our three children and one grandchildren encouraging them to pursue their dreams. They are very active in school, community and sports.

At present my winter months are spent mainly in the mountains within skiing circles. I teach skiing for all levels of skiers, with my twin brother Steve, at the Mahre Training Centers in Deer Valley, Utah. Although, I no longer compete at the international level, I continue to compete in skiing circles in made for  TV events, such as the Legends of Skiing in Vail, CO. These feature Olympic and World Cup greats from the past. Once a racer always a racer! Over the last several years I’ve been working with the US Ski Team as a mentor for the young upcoming stars of the future. Working with youngsters between the ages of 14 and 18 is very rewarding and fun. While not competing or teaching, I do promotional work and product testing for the companies I represent.

Summer months are spent at home relaxing and playing with family and friends or near the race track. I began driving race cars in 1987 with the same determination and enthusiasm I had for skiing, and it has become a new passion in my life.

I advise all people who have dreams to pursue them!
