The World Fit Walk 2013 was a huge success! 31,324 students from 80 schools across America and the Cayman Islands logged in a total of 1,867,478 miles over the six weeks of the Walk.
Congratulations to Beaumont Middle School in Lexington, Kentucky and Cary Middle School in Dallas, Texas, for winning the National Championship for large and small schools respectively. Seven schools this year achieved gold medal status by averaging over 3 miles per student per day during the entire 40 days.
Finally I want to thank the 62 Olympians, Paralympians and National Team members that spoke to the students and helped inspire them to such great accomplishments. It is truly our amazing Olympic role models that make World Fit so special. We are so grateful to all of you!
